College World Series 2018: Start times, Day 3 in Omaha

Monday brings us our first elimination game of the College World Series 2018, with the eight-team field trimmed to seven on Day 3 at TD Ameritrade Stadium in Omaha.

Washington and No. 3 Oregon State will face off in the first of two games on Monday (2 p.m. ET, ESPN), with the loser eliminated from the tournament. The winner of this Pac-12 matchup will advance to play Wednesday for a chance to get back into the winner’s bracket.

The Beavers were upset on Saturday by North Carolina, putting the No. 3 team in the nation in a position to potentially be the first team forced to go home from Omaha.

“Anything in life worth having isn’t easy,” said Oregon State outfielder Kyle Nobach.

Oregon State won two of three games from Washington during the regular season.

The night cap is a matchup between Saturday winners, with North Carolina and Mississippi State fighting for a chance to move just one win away from the best-of-three College World Series finals (7 p.m., ESPN).

The Bulldogs beat Washington on Saturday with a 1-0, walk-off win that was College World Series 2018 one of the most entertaining games of this entire NCAA baseball tournament.

ESPN will televise both games on Monday, with online streaming available through Watch ESPN.

The Florida Gators and the Texas Tech Red Raiders College World Series 2018 have made it back to the College World Series. A season ago, Florida won it all in Omaha, taking home a College World Series championship series by beating the LSU Tigers. Texas Tech has now been in Omaha three times in the past five years and is looking to keep winning.

These two teams help define what it means to be good in college baseball in recent years. Their success is rivaled by few other teams in the nation and they’re aiming to prove that they can continue being the best.

Texas Tech and Florida are in a pretty difficult bracket. Not that anything in the College World Series is easy for anyone at this point. Still, their side of Omaha includes Texas and Arkansas. And the winner of this game will get the winner of that matchup.

This game between Florida and Texas Tech could be a huge one. The Red Raiders and the Gators are both coming into this game after hosting all the way through the Super Regional.

Florida got through their Super Regional in Gainesville by taking down Butch Thompson and the Auburn Tigers. Meanwhile, Texas Tech welcomed the Duke Blue Devils to Lubbock and beat them to move on to Omaha.
